This is a Real Baseball Heroes.

There is one player in baseball who I believe is the best example of a hero. He doesn't hold the single season homerun record, he hasn't won the NL MVP award more than once, and most people don't even think about him when talking about great players still in the game. The fan base for the Atlanta braves however consider him to be one of if not the greatest Brave to have ever played the game. Larry Wayne "Chipper" Jones is possibly the greatest all around baseball player to play the game. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves as the first pick in the first round by the Atlanta Braves in the 1990 draft. He has since developed into a great switch hitter, and a third baseman that goes mostly unnoticed on a national level. In an era in baseball where players change teams more than they change socks, Chipper Jones has stayed in Atlanta his entire career when he could have changed teams and been payed more money than Atlanta could afford to pay him. One reason he stayed was because he dreamed his entire life of playing for the braves, and he believes that he owes it to Atlanta and its fans to stay as long as he feels he can contribute to the team since they gave him his break into professional baseball. He proved that love once again this season saying that if he feels he has become a mediocre player and he feels he is holding the braves back, he would walk away so that they can feel his spot with a better younger player that would contribute more to the braves success than he could. His abilities got him to Atlanta, his ability to work as a teammate keeps him there, and his all around talent and service to the Atlanta community and he has also released a wine this year where all proceeds go to the Miracle League in support of children with disabilities. His modesty and teamwork as well as his philanthropy make him one of the greatest baseball players, and one of my heroes.
